14.16. Removal and radio receiver installation
GENERAL INFORMATION

The radio receiver established at plant has a pocket thanks to which process of removal and radio receiver installation is facilitated. For removal of a radio receiver it is necessary to use two special keys.

As the standard equipment on the car the radio receiver having the coded device against theft which is executed on the basis of the microprocessor is established. After disconnection of a radio receiver from an electric network of the car (removal of the storage battery, removal of a radio receiver or initial installation of a radio receiver) is necessary to enter a safety code. The radio receiver can be included only after input of the correct code.

Before removal of a wire of weight from the accumulator check, whether there is for you a radio receiver code. In the absence of a code of safety to place in operation a radio receiver it is possible only at the specialized Volkswagen station.

The individual code of safety of a radio receiver is available in the technical documentation enclosed to the car at sale.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Switch off ignition.
2. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
Prevention

At removal of a wire of weight from the accumulator contents of cells of memory of electronic control units and a radio receiver are erased.
3. For removal of a radio receiver it is necessary to use two special keys 3316.
4. Insert two keys into the narrow cracks located from two parties of a radio receiver, before fixing of keys.
5. For heads of keys take a radio receiver from a nest. At extraction do not warp a radio receiver and do not pull it aside.
6. Remove special keys for what wring out down lateral clamps of a radio receiver.
7. Disconnect from a radio receiver electric sockets of loudspeakers and the aerial, and also the multicontact socket of giving of tension to a radio receiver.
8. If for connection multicontact sockets are used not, before a detachment of sockets mark them.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Connect electric sockets to a back part of a radio receiver.
2. Insert a radio receiver into a dashboard nest to a zashchelkivaniye of spring clamps.
3. Connect a weight wire to the accumulator.
4. After installation of a radio receiver enter a safety code.
Prevention

On radio receivers with a safety code on a forward key there is a red emblem in the form of a key.

The individual code of safety of a radio receiver is available in the technical documentation enclosed to the car at sale. Store record of an individual code in a safe place and never keep it in the car.
5. Enter a code of safety of a radio receiver as follows.
6. Include a radio receiver.
7. At the same time press the TR keys and THAT before emergence of indication 1000, then release keys.
8. Enter a safety code, using keys of a choice of stations with 1 on 4. The key 1 defines the first number of a code, a key 2 – the second number of a code etc.
9. Again at the same time press the TR keys and THAT before emergence of indication of SAVE, then release keys. Now the receiver is placed in operation, and on the display frequency of accepted radio station is highlighted.
10. If the code of safety was correctly entered into a radio receiver, after key extraction from the lock of ignition the light-emitting diode close to an inscription of the name of a radio receiver should blink.
Prevention

If the safety code was incorrectly entered into a radio receiver, SAVE inscription at first will start blinking, and then will light up constantly. After that it is possible to repeat process of input of a code of safety only once. At repeated wrong input of a code of safety the radio receiver will be blocked and within an hour it cannot be placed in operation. In an hour during which the radio receiver should be included, repeat input of a code of safety.
