14. Electric equipment

GENERAL INFORMATION

Consumers incorporate to the positive power supply a wire, and with minus – through a car body (weight). Such method allows to reduce number of wires and to simplify installation.

The electric system has a 12-volt food with negative grounding and consists of the accumulator, the generator, a starter, consumers of the electric power and electric chains.

For protection of electric chains the safety locks which color corresponds to a current of protection of a safety lock are used. Serviceability of a safety lock is determined by presence of the wire conductor connecting contacts of a safety lock.

At work with the electric equipment remove a weight wire from the accumulator to prevent possibility of short circuit of electric chains.

The electric equipment of the engine includes system of ignition, a charging and start.

The battery charging is made from the generator which is put in action by a belt from a pulley of a cranked shaft.

The starter represents the electric motor of a direct current with the mixed excitement with the electromagnetic traction relay. At engine start the traction relay moves a leading gear wheel to gearing with a gear wreath of a flywheel before the starter will receive a food from the accumulator. After engine start the coupling of a free wheeling disconnects a starter anchor from a gear wreath of a flywheel.
Prevention

At works on electric system not to damage semi-conductor devices (diodes and transistors), is necessary to fulfill the following requirements:

  – in operating time of the engine do not disconnect the accumulator, the generator of an alternating current or any electric sockets;
  – at carrying out any works remove the negative plug from the accumulator;
  – at carrying out electrowelding works on the car disconnect the generator of an alternating current and the electronic control device;
  – do not allow operation of the engine with the generator disconnected from electric system;
  – do not check operability of the generator, closing its target contacts on weight.
