GENERAL INFORMATION

Level of transmission oil in an automatic transmission depends on temperature of transmission oil. As exact measurement of temperature needs the diagnostic equipment, it is recommended to make this work at the Volkswagen service station. Usually oil level in an automatic transmission remains to constants if visually it is not visible places of leaks. In that case there is no need for check of level of oil.


Prevention

Without oil in an automatic transmission it is impossible to start the engine and to make car towage.


Check of level of oil

At level check the temperature of transmission oil should be no more than +30 ° Page. This temperature is reached through small time after engine start. For determination of temperature it is necessary to connect to the socket the diagnostic equipment Volkswagen. Otherwise the temperature can be defined only roughly.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the car on the lift in horizontal situation.
2. Establish the selector lever an automatic transmission in the situation "P" and tighten the hand brake. Switch off the conditioner and a heating system.

4. Replace a sealing ring on a carving stopper.
5. Start the engine when testing on idling turns.
6. At temperature an automatic transmission from +35 ° With to +45 ° About oil level normal if there is an insignificant exit of oil (conditionally because of lifting of level of oil when heating). Otherwise add oil in a transmission. Screw in a stopper into place before achievement of temperature +45 ° With and tighten it the moment of 15 Nanometers.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the car on the lift in horizontal situation.
2. Establish the corresponding container under the oil pallet of an automatic transmission.
3. A screw-driver remove the safety cap located on a maslonalivny pipe. Thus there will be its destruction (see fig. Removal of a safety cap). Unscrew a stopper.
4. Unscrew a carving stopper of check of level of oil.
5. Using the VAG 1924 adaptation, through a maslonalivny pipe add in a transmission oil before emergence it from an opening for check of level of oil (the shooter, see oil Dolivk's fig. in an automatic transmission with VAG 1924 adaptation use).
6. Establish the selector lever in the situation "P", start the engine and let's to it work on single turns.
7. With the engine idling, press a brake and move the selector lever to all provisions ("P", "N", "R", "3", "2", "1") with a delay in each situation for 2–3 seconds.
8. Check oil level in a transmission and, if necessary, modify it.
9. At demanded level of oil screw in a carving stopper (1) and establish into place a new safety cap (2).

Check of a condition of oil

At check of level of oil in an automatic transmission also check an oil condition. For simplification of check of a condition of oil compare color, a smell and viscosity of oil to new oil.

If oil in a transmission dark or nearly black with a zhzheny smell, means, frictional overlays of a transmission are worn-out.

If oil in a transmission has dairy color, means, water got to it. It can occur at continuous operation of the car on short trips. If color of oil does not change after a long trip, it is necessary to replace oil.

If oil has dark brown color and sticky, it can be because of an overheat of a transmission or too high level of oil in a box. If replacement of oil does not give result, the car it is necessary to present Volkswagen in a specialized workshop.

If at check of level of oil or oil replacement at an automatic box in oil there are particles of dirt or metal shaving, it is necessary to make diagnostics or repair of an automatic transmission at the specialized Volkswagen service station.
