4.1.2. Removal and installation of the fuel filter (petrol engines)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The fuel filter on models with petrol engines

1–fuel filter;
2–fuel hose;
3–fuel hose;
4–holder;

5–bolt;
6–an arrow on the case of the fuel filter, indicating the direction of a stream of fuel;
7–to the fuel highway of the engine

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The fuel filter is fixed on the car bottom before a fuel tank.

2. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports. Establish under the fuel filter the corresponding container.

3. Weaken the collars, fixing fuel hoses to the fuel filter.

4. Close hose connection by rags and remove a fuel hose from the fuel filter.

5. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the holder of the fuel filter.

6. Take the fuel filter from the holder.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Establish the new fuel filter so that the arrow on the case of the filter coincided with the direction of a stream of fuel via the fuel filter.

2. Screw the holder of the fuel filter.

3. Connect to the fuel filter fuel hoses and fix them collars.

4. Start the engine and check tightness of fuel system.

Prevention

On models with the engine 2,3-I with an automatic transmission the cable of an accelerator operates a butterfly valve and the switch located on a partition of a motor compartment.
