1.1.37. Ignition lock

GENERAL INFORMATION

Petrol engines:
1–ignition is switched off / the engine is switched off;
2–ignition is included;
3–engine start-up

Diesel engines:
1–supply of fuel is blocked / the engine is switched off;
2–inclusion of prestarting heating and situation at car movement;
3–engine start-up

On models with the diesel engine any other electrodevices – large consumers of a current should not be included in operating time of a prestarting heater. Otherwise there will be too strong load of the storage battery.

Prevention

Take out a key from the ignition lock only after a full stop of the car! Under way steering blocking otherwise can join.

In order to avoid an uncontrollable skatyvaniye of the car after a full stop of the car you should tighten the parking brake reliably always.

FOR ALL CARS

Situation 1

For blocking of a steering turn a steering wheel at the taken-out ignition key before heard click of fixing of a lock finger of a steering.

If after a vynimaniye of the ignition key there were not switched off devices of lighting or the turn index, as soon as the door of the driver will be open, the sound signal of type a buzzer will join.

Situation 2

If the ignition key difficult or in general cannot be turned in this situation, it is necessary to shake a little a steering wheel to the left-to the right – steering blocking then will act in film.

Situation 3

In it the provision of a headlight are switched to lay fires, other large consumers of an electric current are switched off.

Before each new attempt to get the engine it is necessary to return the ignition key in situation 1. The device of blocking of repeated inclusion of the starter, placed in the ignition lock, prevents starter inclusion at a rotating cranked shaft of the engine and by that protects a starter from breakage.

On cars with an automatic transmission the key after switching off of ignition will manage to be taken out only when the selector is in a position of "R".

At the taken-out ignition key the selector is blocked in this position.
