12.5.2. Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. If the condition of overlays of brake shoes allows their further operation, clear them, using a wire brush and pure rags.
2. Before installation of blocks check, that directing fingers freely moved in the holder of a support, and be convinced that rubber protective covers of directing fingers are not damaged.
3. Clear a dust and dirt from a support and the piston.
4. Check a condition of dustproof consolidation round the piston.
5. Using a metal brush, clear a brake disk of rust traces.
6. Measure thickness of a brake disk.
7. At installation of new brake shoes it is necessary to screw in the piston in a support.

Prevention

At a piston vvinchivaniye brake liquid is forced out from the brake cylinder in a broad tank therefore constantly watch level of brake liquid in a tank. If necessary pump out liquid from a tank.

8. For a piston vvinchivaniye in the cylinder it is necessary to use the VW 3272 tool. For a vvinchivaniye of the piston establish the tool so that the fillet of the tool was established in piston grooves (And – a place for wrench installation).
9. Rotate the case of the special tool counter-clockwise against the stop. Rotating the handle of the special tool clockwise, screw in the piston in a support.
10. If the vvinchivaniye of the piston is complicated, establish a wrench on 13 on a shlitsa in the basis of the handle and for a wrench screw in the piston.
11. In the absence of the special tool screw in the piston in a support, using angular flat-nose pliers for lock rings.
12. Establish new spring latches to a support.
13. Establish brake shoes in the holder of a support.
14. If old brake shoes are established, check that they are established in initial situation.
15. At installation of new brake shoes remove from them a protective film.
16. Establish a support and fix it new bolts, having tightened them the moment of 35 Nanometers.
17. Connect to a support a cable of the hand brake (3) for what press the lever (2) in the direction of an arrow and connect a cable of the hand brake to the lever. Fix a cover of a cable of the hand brake a spring bracket (1).
18. Adjust operation of the hand brake.
19. Establish back wheels, then lower the car on the earth and tighten bolts of fastening of wheels.
20. Several times press a brake pedal in order that brake shoes nestled on a brake disk.
21. Check level of brake liquid in a popolnitelny tank and, if necessary, finish it to norm.

Prevention

Being careful, let's be earned extra to new brake shoes. For this purpose at about 80 km/h several times brake till speed of 40 km/h in easy pressing of a pedal. In intervals let's to brake shoes be cooled a little.

After installation of new brake shoes avoid sharp braking during the first 200 km of run of the car.

Check of control of safety

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check, whether brake hoses are reliably tightened.
2. Check, whether the brake hose in the holder is fixed.
3. Check, whether pumping unions are reliably tightened.
4. Check, whether level of brake liquid is sufficient.
5. Check make at the working engine. During about 10 seconds press a brake pedal with effort of 20-30 kg/m, thus the pedal should not fail.
6. Check tightness of all listed connections.
