8.5. Adjustment of cables of gear shifting

8.5.1. Engines 1,4-/1,6-I
GENERAL INFORMATION

Before adjustment of cables of gear shifting check that a transmission, coupling and management of coupling as it should be. Besides, the lever of gear shifting should move smoothly and without breakthroughs.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the transmission lever in neutral situation and tighten the lever of the hand brake.
2. Disconnect and lift up a protective cover of the lever of the hand brake.
3. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a tightening collar (it is specified by an arrow) on draft of gear shifting.
4. Draft connection after weakening of a tightening collar should move easily.
5. Weaken bolts (1 and 2) and press against the stop the lower right part of the basis (shooter). Tighten a bolt (1) demanded moment.
6. Move the gear shifting lever to the provision of inclusion of the 5th transfer and establish adjusting calibre of VW-3421.
7. Move the gear shifting lever to the provision of inclusion 3 - й – 4-y transfers.
8. Move operative draft of gear shifting to the provision of idling and tighten a bolt of fastening of a tightening bracket the moment of 25 Nanometers.
9. Remove adjusting calibre.
10. Include a reverse gear.
11. Weaken a bolt (1) and press the left side of the basis of the lever of gear shifting down to an emphasis (see fig. in item 5). Tighten bolts (1 and 2) the moment of 25 Nanometers.
12. Check smoothness of inclusion of transfers, especially reverse gear.
13. If the mechanism of gear shifting works indistinctly, make more exact adjustment. Establish the gear shifting lever in the provision of inclusion of the 1st transfer and check a gap (and) which should make 2 mm. Otherwise weaken bolts (1 and 2, see fig. in item 5) and establish a demanded gap. Tighten bolts of fastening the moment of 25 Nanometers.
