Identification number of the car (chassis number) is beaten out on a water modular cavity of a motor compartment.

Number of the chassis is deciphered as follows:

1–code of the producer: VWV = Volkswagen;
2–complete set;
3–two-place standard code. 3B = Golf;
4–detailed komplektitsiya;
5–year of manufacturing: W= 1998, X = 1999 etc.;
6–manufacturing place;
7–chassis number.

On 4-cylinder engines number is located at the left on the block of cylinders under the line of the socket of the block and a block head.

On 5-and 6-cylinder engines number is located on the right on the block of cylinders under the line of the socket of the block and a block head. For finding of number on 5-and 6-cylinder engines it is necessary to unscrew fastening of a covering of the engine.

In addition number of the engine is put on a shtrikhkodovy sticker on a cover of a gear belt.

The plate with a car specification

The plate contains the following data:

1–product intra serial number;
2–identification number of the car;
3–code of model of the car;
4–detailed designation model / engine capacity;
5–alphabetic reference of models of the engine and transmission;
6–number paint / code of equipment of an interior of salon;
7–code of the custom-made equipment.
