3.4.2. Check of operability of the thermostat
GENERAL INFORMATION

Working position of the thermostat

and – the thermostat is closed;

b–the thermostat is open

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure length (and) the closed thermostat.
2. Rough check of operability of the thermostat can be made, having suspended it on a thread in the glass vessel filled with water, and heating up water to boiling.
3. When boiling water the thermostat should open, otherwise replace it.
4. The temperature of opening of the thermostat is put on the thermostat case.
5. When heating the thermostat to temperature of boiling of water the length of the open thermostat (b) should be more than a length of the closed thermostat (and) on 7 mm.
6. The thermostat which is not closed when cooling water, also is subject to replacement.
